WHO AM I ?
Holder of a doctorate in education and training sciences (University of Paris V, 1981) and an authorization to supervise research (University of Tours, 1992), Philippe Carré is professor emeritus of educational sciences and training at Paris-Nanterre University since 2021.
There, he is a member of the Apprenance, formation et digital research team of the Cref laboratory, where he created the Pedagogical Engineering master's degree in adult education and the doctoral program (20 theses in progress, 4 research directors).
He previously held various positions in various continuing education environments: trainer then educational manager in various public and private organizations (from 1977 to 1986), in charge of delegated project management in educational engineering for the companyAir Africa(1978-1988), consultant-responsible for studies atInterfaceand founding director ofSays International Communication(between 1986 and 1994).
He was appointed associate professor at the University of Science and Technology of Lille in 1994, then full professor at the University of Paris Nanterre in 1999.
He is now the editor of the journalKnowledge, member of the steering committee of the'International Society for Self-directed Learning(USA) and president of the associationResearch Interface. He holds the 10thMalcolm Knowles Awardissued by theInternational Society for Self-directed Learning(USA, 2010)https://www.sdlglobal.com/award-winners and winner of theInternational Adult Education Hall of Famein New Orleans (USA, 2018)
He is now also committed to clearing the notion of learning as an illustration of the transformations of the relationship to knowledge within the framework of the information society.
